MBA'S DEBUT
The MBA program was created in 2007 by Ray Callari, professional scout for the San Francisco Giants. Initially, the establishment of the MBA program was a solution to a need to continue the development of baseball during the fall season in the greater Montreal area.
From 2007 to 2020, players were recruited by Ray Callari to complete teams in various age categories from 12U to 19U. These teams participated in a tournaments and exhibition games during the fall baseball season while practicing a few times a week.
In addition, during these years, Ray also offered baseball clinics in his native Montreal area.
start of a year-round program
It was during the spring of 2021 that Ray's idea of having a full annual baseball program took shape. During the summer of 2021, Ray oversaw an existing baseball program, the Tri-Lake Monsters, where he began to implement his knowledge to help develop the young players in the program.
During the the fall of 2021, Ray took the reigns of the program to make it a top tier program.
WHO WE ARE now
The Montreal Baseball Academy is an elite baseball organization focusing on advanced player development through a year-round professionnal training program, high level competition in league play, tournaments and exhibition games and trained by highly experienced coaches and instructors.
The focus is changing for the MBA. We now offer an alternative option for those baseball players in the Greater Montreal area looking to pursue collegiate and professionnal opportunities. Every year, the MBA have continued to grow with the help of great leadership, tireless work and dedication to assert the program as one of the best amateur program in the province of Quebec.
The MBA program builds a team oriented, professional, championship culture that is displayed on and off the field. MBA plays top competition in both Canada and the United States while attending top tournaments and showcase events year-round. The MBA staff bring their many years of experience and contacts in the industry into play, to identify and target those tournaments and events that are among the best and most competitive south of the border.
Our head of baseball operations, Ray Callari, has been, for the past decades, helping players from all over the province of Quebec receive offers from some of the top academic and top baseball schools in North America.
