frank martinez director / coaches coordinator / coach
Frank Martinez has been around the Montreal Baseball Academy for years. It started in 2013 when he coached the MBA 12U fallball team, the Montreal Giants. The following years, Frank helped out Ray Callari for winter baseball clinics but wasn't as involved in the program as he is today.
In 2020, Frank ran an independant baseball program, affiliated with Little League, the Tri-Lake Monsters. The program hired Ray Callari to host baseball clinics during summer to their players. The following year, the Tri-Lake Monsters wanted to be taken as a more serious program and approached Ray for his knowledge to help develop the young players in the program.
For fall 2021, the Tri-Lake Monsters became the first year-round MBA team. Frank was the head coach for this team.
During the winter of 2022, Frank worked very hard with Ray Callari and Patrick McKenna to build a top tier baseball program. Setting up a training program, building a schedule of games (league, tournaments, exhibitions), finding qualified coaches and trainers, preparing budgets, finding sponsors, etc. are all tasks that Frank has masterfully managed with his two partners.
Frank has a motto he borrowed from Lionel Geller of NDG and uses constantly, "It's all about the kids" and all he does for the MBA program is geared towards that. He's always trying to find ways to give the best opportunity for the players in the program. He puts in countless hours ensuring that MBA delivers the best baseball program possible.
