Professional scout for the San Francisco Giants in the MLB, Ray Callari has always been involved in baseball in the province of Quebec. From his playing years in the Montreal Expos' organization up to his actual job as a scout for the Giants, Ray has always kept an eye on what was going on in the Quebec baseball world.
Ray, in addition to being a full-time scout for San Francisco, is also president of the Montreal Baseball Academy (a program he founded in 2007), president of NDG Baseball (former Little League program, now Baseball Quebec association) and a special advisor for Baseball Quebec and more specifically to the Académie de Baseball du Canada (ABC) where he helps out recruiting players for special events such as the Claude Raymond Classic (tournament with the 90 best 15U players from the province of Quebec) or even for the ABC tryouts and teams.
That's why, for years now, Ray has been on the list of the Top 25 most influential Quebecers in baseball because of the significant impact on the health of the sport, thanks to his involvement and visibility he brings to the discipline.
His dedication to the sport and professionalism have ensured that Ray is sought after by all levels of baseball. With his background in the MLB, he gives good advice to the young players and shares his experience to help them achieve their goals.
Through all these years in baseball, Ray has built up a very large network of contacts throughout Canada and the U.S.A. at all levels from minor league baseball to the major leagues to american colleges and universities.
Every year, with all his contacts in baseball, Ray helps out student-athletes get scholarships in the best college and university programs in the United States. A lot of these student-athletes played for MBA during fallball throughout the years.

playing career
After dominating in minor baseball in Montreal, Ray moved to Pine Bush NY to finish high school and play for their varsity baseball team. After high school, Ray played for the Miami Dade College Sharks in the NJCAA in Florida.
On June 20, 1990, Ray was signed by the Montreal Expos as a non-drafted free agent. He played two years in the Expos' affiliate team.
In 1990, Ray played for the GCL Expos (Rookie-level) in the Gulf Coast League and in 1991, he played for the Rockford Expos (A-Class level) in the Midwest League.
After those two years, Ray decided to hang up his glove and cleats to pursue his career in baseball, but not as a player.

After his playing career, Ray stayed in the baseball world where he had several different jobs before being a professional scout for the San Francisco Giants in the MLB.
As a scout for American college teams, as a hitting instructor at the Alex Agostino Baseball Academy in St-Bruno, as an assistant-coach with the Collège Charles Lemoyne's Sports Studies program and as an associate scout with the Cincinnati Reds of the MLB, Ray has been a regular presence in the baseball parks over the years.
Ray also coached the LaSalle Cardinals in the Junior Elite League of Quebec for a few years and was a coach with the Academie de Baseball du Canada (ABC) also.
Then, Ray got the scouting job for the San Francisco Giants for whom he's still employed as of today.
Ray founded the Montreal Baseball Academy in 2007 as a solution to a need to continue de development of baseball during the fall season in the greater Montreal area.
Since then, Ray's MBA transformed and is now an elite organization focusing on advanced player development through a year-round professional training program, high level competition and trained by highly experienced coaches and instructors.
